Abstract

The article examines the growth of “the religiously unaffiliated” in Brazil in light of the 2022 Census, which places them as the country's third largest religious group. Working from an anthropological and phenomenological approach, it discusses how pluralism, cultural hybridization, and social change affect Brazilian religious identity, and it proposes the notion of inforsacrality to describe a sacred that shifts from the institution to the flows of information.
